Discussion

For this units discussion you will locate an article about social media action/publishing plans and present a short summary to the class. Find an article about social media action/publishing plans that no one else has posted in the discussion area. Give the title of the article (3 points), a link to the article (4 points), the author(s) name(s) (3 points) and in one paragraph talk about what they recommend (30 points). In a paragraph, talk about your experience in managing and creating social media content on a regular basis (30 points). If you do not have experience, after reading the articles, explain what you would do and where you might have problems. Reply to at least two others about their experiences and offer some helpful advice from your experiences with social media scheduling (15 points each 30 points max).

Create a publishing plan

In the next unit we are going to start blogging. Now is your time to establish your brand. In a document complete the following information.
  1. What will be your theme on (sports, fashion, crafts, etc...)?  (2 points)
  2. What will you focus on? If your theme was sports, you might choose football. (2 points)
  3. What is your niche that will help further separate your media from others? (2 points)
  4. List 2 social media services you want to use and why you choose them. (2 points each)
  5. For each service, create a 1 paragraph mission statement. Essentially what you want to accomplish by using the service and what it will provide to the followers. (15 points each)
  6. For each service, define how often you will publish and how promptly you will give feedback to followers.  (15 points each)
  7. Define how you would measure success each week of you services. For example: retweets, page hits, followers etc... Give an exact number or growth expectation so you can see if you meet your goals. (15 points each) 
  8. Submit your document using the Unit 2 assignment link in Blackboard.

  2. I just did the discussion in Unit 2 on Blackboard and it doesn't match the discussion info given on this page. Should I do another one following the criteria listed above?

  3. The unit 2 in Blackboard was the instructions for unit 4. I've updated the one in Blackboard to reflect the correct unit 2 instructions. You can use the work you have already completed for the unit 4 discussion.
